BUNYA, Democratic Republic of the Congo โ World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Sunday that five patients infected with a rare strain of Ebola had recovered in Bunya, in eastern Congo.
Speaking at an Ebola treatment center opened in Bunya, the capital of Ituri province, Ghebreyesus said four patients were discharged on Sunday and one was released on Saturday.
The World Health Organization said latest figures showed 906 suspected cases and 223 suspected deaths.
Ghebreyesus said work on vaccines and treatments was continuing and noted that Ebola patients can recover.
