IAEA says drone struck Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant

The International Atomic Energy Agency said Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was hit by a drone attack. The agency said its team at the site observed damage consistent with a drone strike. In a statement on X, the agency said damage was found on the outside of the turbine building and on a metal entrance section at a higher level of the structure. It also said radiation levels in the area remained normal. The agency said it had requested access to the inside of the building. It did not give further details. On the same day, Russian and Ukrainian authorities said drones described as Ukrainian had hit several regions in Russia overnight and carried out attacks on energy infrastructure.
