Kvaratshelia named Champions League player of the season

PARIS, France — PARIS — Paris Saint-Germain’s Khvicha Kvaratshelia was named the best player of the 2025-2026 UEFA Champions League season, UEFA said. The Georgian winger helped Paris Saint-Germain beat Arsenal on penalties in Budapest yesterday to win the trophy for a second straight year. Kvaratshelia finished the tournament with 10 goals and 6 assists. In the final, he also won the penalty that brought his team level after Arsenal scored early. UEFA’s team of the season included goalkeeper David Raya, along with Yorlente, Marquinhos, Gabriel and Nuno Mendes in defense.
