BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that the United States did not import any crude oil from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, or Libya during the past week. This follows data from the third week of May, when the U.S. imported 67,000 barrels per day from Iraq and 155,000 barrels from Saudi Arabia.
Canada remained the primary source of U.S. crude oil imports during the same period, supplying 3.82 million barrels.
EIA figures indicate that Iraqi oil exports to the U.S. have fluctuated significantly in recent weeks. Exports dropped to 48,000 barrels per day in some weeks of April before peaking at 195,000 barrels at the end of the month and subsequently declining.
