Iraq PM orders care for Hashd al-Shaabi casualties after coordinated strikes

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Falih al-Zaydi visited the General Headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) and met with its head and security officials, according to a prime ministerial statement. During the visit, he received a detailed briefing on morning attacks targeting Hashd al-Shaabi personnel in several Iraqi cities. Al-Zaydi instructed authorities to honor the families of those killed, provide full medical care to the wounded, and ensure treatment procedures are carried out without disruption. The statement said the necessary steps will be taken to transfer wounded personnel abroad if their medical condition requires it. Earlier in the day, Hashd al-Shaabi announced that airstrikes had hit its centers along with U.S. and Saudi Arabian forces, killing and wounding a number of its members. On the same day, U.S. Central Command confirmed that coordinated airstrikes had been carried out in Iraq alongside Saudi Arabia.
