Iran’s president has ordered internet services restricted across the country to be restored to their previous level, with digital access expected to return gradually after a decision taken Monday evening. The move comes after one of the longest waves of digital disruption Iran has experienced in recent years.
The presidential decision aims to remove nationwide digital access restrictions and normalize internet connectivity after severe service interruptions. Internet access levels fell sharply during the restrictions, with connectivity reportedly dropping below 98%.
The connection problems began on 28 February 2026, at the same time as attacks carried out by the United States and Israel. The order now sets the stage for a phased return to normal internet services across Iran.
