Fayik Zeydan says fair rulings require honesty and impartiality

Judge Fayik Zeydan said in a speech at a graduation ceremony held at the American University that the hardest decisions require not only legal knowledge, but also honesty, impartiality and courage. He said that in important positions, a person is tested not only by professional competence, but also by how they stand up under pressure. Zeydan added that knowledge can help someone reach a position, but maintaining trust requires a continuous moral commitment. He stressed that justice is achieved not only by knowing what is right, but by applying it firmly. Zeydan also said critical moments reveal a person's level of principle and independence.
