Asia Archery Cup to be held in Sulaymaniyah

SULAYMANIYAH, Iraq — Iraq Archery Federation President Saad al-Meshhadani said the Asia Cup will be held in Sulaymaniyah from Oct. 24 to 30, despite serious financial difficulties facing the event in Iraq. He said the federation will not send invitations to national federations with limited budgets, and will only invite countries able to cover their own expenses. Al-Meshhadani said the Iraqi federation has also paid the fees required by the International Archery Federation so the tournament can be included in the international ranking system. The competition will be held in men’s and women’s, as well as junior and senior, categories in recurve and compound archery.
