BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih Zeydi received Kurdistan Regional Government President Masrur Barzani and his delegation on Monday to discuss border crossings, the Asycuda system and technical issues involving oil companies operating in the region.
The meeting also covered the general situation in the country and examined ways to improve high-level coordination and cooperation between the federal government and the regional administration.
The two sides agreed on the need to overcome technical problems and resolve current obstacles within the framework of the law and the constitution.
Zeydi said he gives priority to solving problems in line with the goal of serving all citizens and said reaching an agreement that protects the country’s interests is the main priority. Barzani congratulated Zeydi on forming the new government after winning the confidence of the Iraqi Parliament and said the cabinet has Kurdish support.
