Zain Iraq launches campaign to support national team ahead of 2026 World Cup

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Zain Iraq has launched a national campaign titled "Nechec Zain.. Esvedü'r-Rafideyn" ("We support Zain, Lions of the Tigris") to back the Iraqi national football team at the 2026 World Cup, the company announced. Iraq's football side qualified for the tournament for the first time in 40 years. The campaign features collaborations with team captain Ayman Hussein, goalkeeper Jalal Hassan, and players Emir Al-Amari and Yusuf Al-Ameen. Zain Iraq said it will organize special contests and raffles bringing players and fans together, with prizes including match tickets, travel and accommodation for winners to attend World Cup games in person. The company also plans interactive competitions and periodic giveaways on its social media platforms, along with sponsorship of a fan zone where supporters can watch national team matches. Zain Iraq Chief Commercial Officer Mohammed Samir said the 2026 World Cup represents an exceptional moment for every Iraqi and expressed pride that the company is part of the national journey. Zain Iraq said the campaign can be followed through its social media accounts and wished the national team success on the world stage.
