Apple is preparing to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro series next month, according to leaked specifications circulated online. The new Pro models are expected to be powered by the Pro 20A processor, built on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's 2-nanometer production process. Leaker Digital Focus Fixed said the Pro 20A is based on Gate-All-Around technology and delivers roughly 18 percent higher performance than the previous generation, while cutting energy consumption by up to 30 percent. The improvements are said to translate into lower device temperatures, stronger performance under heavy workloads and longer battery life compared with the predecessor Pro 19A. The report also warned that the early-stage 2-nanometer manufacturing ramp is pushing component costs sharply higher. Prices for the new chip and rising global memory costs could raise overall component expenses by as much as 40 percent, according to the leak. Based on those figures, expectations point to a starting price of $1,399 for the iPhone 18 Pro. Apple has not officially confirmed the specifications, pricing or launch details.
