Wasit sewerage rehabilitation in Hay town reaches 80% completion

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Wasit's General Directorate of Sewerage has completed 80% of an infrastructure rehabilitation and development project in the district of Hay, the directorate's director general, Imad Tawfiq al-Mirza, said on Monday. Al-Mirza said work was advancing quickly and that the project was being implemented as part of its second phase. He added that the directorate was coordinating with relevant authorities to meet set deadlines and that inspections were continuing to ensure required quality standards. The directorate said the project is expected to enter service soon and was among the planned infrastructure investments aimed at improving service quality in the province and addressing residents' needs. It added that completion would substantially ease existing infrastructure problems in the area. No further details on a completion date were immediately available.
