BAGHDAD, Iraq โ A fire broke out in the neonatal intensive care unit of Numan Hospital in Baghdad and was brought under control, according to security sources. The blaze originated in the hospital's newborn intensive care section, one of the capital's health facilities.
Officials said firefighting and security teams were dispatched quickly to the scene and extinguished the flames in a short time. Temporary security measures were implemented around the hospital while an investigation into the cause of the fire was launched.
No injuries or casualties have been reported so far. Authorities said the cause of the fire and any potential negligence claims will be clarified once the investigation is completed.
