Baghdad police dismantle motorcycle theft gang in Karkh district

BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Baghdad's Karkh Police Directorate, through its Criminal Combat Department, said it has dismantled a gang known as "Abu Shennib" that specialized in motorcycle theft.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, the gang operated within the jurisdiction of the Hurriyet police station in the Karkh area on the western side of the capital.
Investigators said they tracked and analyzed theft reports before locating the site where the gang stored stolen motorcycles. Following the established plan, all members of the gang were taken into custody and a large number of stolen motorcycles were recovered, the directorate said.
The suspects face legal proceedings, with their case files referred to the competent authorities, according to the statement. No further details were immediately available.
