Vance warns Iran nuclear talks will be 'complex and difficult'

WASHINGTON, United States — WASHINGTON — U.S. Vice President JD Vance said negotiations with Iran over a nuclear deal will be "complex and difficult," telling Fox News that Iranians are "tough negotiators" operating within a divided decision-making structure. He said the administration aims to handle the file in a way that produces the best outcome for the American people and the president. Vance said expected developments in the talks would put downward pressure on oil prices and keep them low. He stressed that preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon would strengthen the United States' strategic position. On the day of the interview, oil was trading at $79 a barrel. The vice president cautioned against predicting outcomes while negotiations remain ongoing. Iran has officially denied holding direct talks with the United States, with Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi saying on Wednesday that Tehran has not yet decided whether to implement a memorandum of understanding reached between the two countries.
