BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's General Traffic Directorate has denied social media reports claiming one of its employees committed suicide, saying the allegations are unfounded and not backed by any official source. In a statement, the directorate said the footage and information circulating online are baseless and urged citizens and social media users to exercise caution when sharing news.
The directorate called on the public to rely solely on statements issued by official bodies and to refrain from spreading unverified reports, noting that such information can negatively affect the families of staff members and public perception. It also warned that false and misleading claims harm institutional credibility.
The General Traffic Directorate said it reserves the right to take legal action against those who disseminate what it described as lies and misleading news. No further details were immediately available.
