Trump Mobile is facing a serious data leak involving Donald Trump’s T1 smartphones after personal information belonging to about 27,000 people was exposed. The breach matters because it included full names, addresses and telephone numbers, raising concerns over customer privacy and data handling.
The company said it is investigating the incident with the help of independent cybersecurity experts. In its initial review, it said there was no evidence of a direct hack into its systems.
Trump Mobile also said sensitive financial data, including credit card information and bank account records, was not affected. That limited the scope of the exposure, but left the personal data of thousands of users at risk.
An Australian IT specialist who examined the site identified security vulnerabilities and alerted the company. A Columbia University professor also found that data belonging to users who had not completed a purchase was being recorded.
