Russia says it struck facilities in Kyiv and Mykolaiv port

MOSCOW — Russia's Defense Ministry said on Friday it carried out strikes on military facilities in Kyiv and at the port of Mykolaiv in Ukraine. In Kyiv, the ministry said, a remotely controlled sea drone assembly and maintenance facility was hit. At the Mykolaiv port, the strikes targeted a sea loading station serving Ukrainian forces' logistical needs along with four warehouses containing military equipment. The ministry also said a transformer station in the village of Trykhaty in the Mykolaiv region, which supplies electricity to the port, was struck. It did not provide further details on casualties or damage assessments. The claims could not be independently verified. No immediate comment was available from Ukrainian authorities.
