Israeli army says it killed two Hamas members in northern Gaza airstrike

The Israeli military said Saturday that an airstrike in the northern Gaza Strip killed two members of Hamas. It identified them as Hani Abdulhay Fahri Mazlum and Hassan Zeidan Hassan Diri. The army described Mazlum as a brigade commander in Hamas's military wing elite forces and Diri as a sniper in the same wing. It said both had also been involved in procuring weapons and combat equipment for Hamas members. According to the statement, the operation achieved its objective and the two suspects were neutralized. The statement did not provide additional details on the circumstances of the strike. Israeli airstrikes in the northern Gaza Strip have increased in recent weeks as fighting in the territory continues. Hamas had not immediately commented on the Israeli announcement.
