Hajj convoys will begin moving this evening to the Mina area to spend Yawm al-Tarwiya, the eighth night of Dhu al-Hijjah, as part of an organized transfer from the holy city. More than 24,000 buses are scheduled to depart for the area. Pilgrims will stay in fully equipped, service-ready tents during their time in Mina. The arrangement is designed to accommodate the large-scale movement of worshippers during one of the central rites of the Hajj season. Mina lies between Mecca and Muzdalifah and is located about 7 kilometers northeast of the Kaaba. Situated within the Haram boundary, the area is regarded as one of the most important stops in the Hajj pilgrimage.
