Iraqโs Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee has begun reviewing amendments to the Internal Security Forces Service and Retirement Law, with changes aimed at improving retirement conditions for Interior Ministry personnel. The proposed package would raise pensions and revise allowances for service members after retirement.
Committee members said some current pensions remain below 500,000 dinars, a level they ััะธัะฐัั does not match present living conditions. Under the proposal, the retirement salary would be increased to about 1 million dinars.
The draft also includes retirement for personnel who complete 15 years of service without an age requirement. It further adds food and risk allowances to the salary calculation.
Among the other provisions under review are a 250,000-dinar risk allowance for newly appointed personnel and the continuation of a 485,000-dinar risk allowance for ministry employees.
