Multiple security incidents across Iraq leave one dead, several injured

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Several security incidents were reported Wednesday across the southern and central Iraqi provinces of Maysan, Najaf, Wasit, Anbar and Muthanna, leaving one person dead, multiple others injured and a teenager missing. In Maysan, a tribal armed clash erupted in the village of Taber in Amara over an old blood feud, killing one person. In Najaf, police arrested two suspects who fled the scene after a woman was struck and injured by their vehicle on Kafil University Street; the injured woman was taken to Al-German Hospital for treatment. In Wasit, medical teams at Martyr Doctor Firuz Hospital saved a young man who had been severely wounded with a bladed weapon that severed his arteries, with hospital staff reporting his condition is now stable. In Anbar's Qaim district, river police divers continued searching for an 18-year-old who drowned in the Euphrates River after traveling from Fallujah for his sister's wedding. In Muthanna's Warka district, a protest demanding improved public services, particularly water and electricity, led to clashes between demonstrators and security forces.
