Saudi Arabia says fire at Aramco’s Jizan refinery extinguished

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy said a fire at a facility within Aramco’s Jizan refinery was extinguished in the early hours of Sunday. In a statement posted on X, the ministry said the company’s industrial security and firefighting teams responded at the site. No casualties or injuries were reported. The ministry added that teams continued to take the necessary measures to contain the effects of the fire and address its aftermath. It did not immediately provide further details on the cause of the blaze or the extent of the damage. The Jizan refinery, located in southwestern Saudi Arabia near the Red Sea coast, is one of Aramco’s newer processing facilities and is designed to process heavy and medium crude oil. Aramco has not yet issued a separate public statement on the incident.
