BAGHDAD, Iraq — The Karkh Second Investigative Court in Baghdad recovered 3 billion Iraqi dinars today, the Iraqi Judicial Council said. The money was reported to be proceeds from a financial and administrative corruption case.
According to a statement from the Judicial Council’s press office, the recovery was carried out under the direct supervision of the court’s presiding judge and after intensive efforts. The statement said legal proceedings are continuing against those who used irregular methods that harmed public funds.
