BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraqi Electricity Minister Ali Saadi Wahib met with directors of distribution companies in Baghdad on Monday, June 1, 2026, and called for faster repairs to daily outages, according to a ministry statement.
The ministry said the meeting also focused on responding quickly to citizen complaints and completing ongoing projects on schedule.
Wahib instructed the directors general to keep field work ongoing and to follow workplace problems directly.
The meeting also discussed ways to curb unauthorized use of the electricity grid, increase revenue and reduce energy losses.
