Israeli intelligence sees no Iranian intent to attack Israel, report says

WASHINGTON, United States — Israeli security agencies assess that Iran is not currently preparing activity indicating an intention to expand the conflict onto Israeli territory, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Tuesday. According to the same sources, the United States is preparing to shift the focus of its pressure campaign away from direct strikes on Iranian territory and toward curbing Tehran's regional influence. The new approach would concentrate on supply, financial and infrastructure networks linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Washington is also expected to increase pressure on Lebanon and Syria, routes through which Iran sustains its regional presence, while political and economic sanctions continue. Israeli and U.S. officials have framed the strategy shift as a campaign rather than a full-scale war, relying on intelligence operations, economic pressure and limited military steps to weaken Iran's ability to support its allies. The report said the United States will continue to monitor Lebanon and Syria as the main channels through which Iran delivers military and logistical support to the region, and will also track threats in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Israel has reiterated it remains ready to respond if security conditions change, with the Iran file expected to remain a leading issue in regional tensions in the coming period.
