Iran's Revolutionary Guards say they struck early warning radars in Kuwait

TEHRAN, Iran — TEHRAN — Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it targeted and disabled early warning and tactical radar systems in Kuwait as part of the second wave of what it called "Operation Nasr 2." In a statement numbered 41 released by the Guards' public relations unit, the force said the strikes were aimed at neutralizing radar systems in the region. The statement said an early warning radar near the Al Salem base and a tactical radar unit were struck, along with another radar system on Bubiyan Island. It added that the systems have been rendered operationally out of service. The IRGC said the "punishment operation against the aggressor" would continue. Officials in Kuwait and Bahrain said on Tuesday evening that both countries had come under attack from Iranian sources, that air defense measures had been activated and that residents had been instructed to follow security guidance. No further details were immediately available on casualties or the extent of the damage.
