BAGHDAD, Iraq โ A senior Iraqi security delegation is set to visit Riyadh on Tuesday for talks focused on drone attacks Saudi Arabia says were launched from Iraqi territory, according to the Iraqi military. The delegation will be led by Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Abdulamir al-Shammari and intelligence chief Hamid al-Shatri, the military said.
The visit follows a trip to Baghdad days earlier by a Saudi intelligence team headed by Khaled bin Ali al-Humaydan, who met with National Intelligence Director Ali al-Zubaidi. Iraqi officials said the earlier meeting addressed intelligence and security coordination between the two countries.
The Riyadh talks are expected to focus on strengthening security cooperation and preventing further drone launches from Iraqi territory. No further details on the agenda were immediately available.
