Iraq's Basra crude rises as Brent approaches recent high near $88

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — Iraq's Basra Heavy and Basra Medium crude prices rose on Tuesday, tracking an increase in global oil markets. Basra Heavy gained 0.55 percent from the previous session to $55.09 a barrel, while Basra Medium climbed $0.30 to $57.39 a barrel. On the same day, international benchmark Brent crude added 0.25 percent to reach $87.94 a barrel, near its recent high. West Texas Intermediate rose $0.22 to $82.37 a barrel, while Abu Dhabi's Murban crude gained 5.79 percent to $84.90 a barrel. The OPEC basket price increased 3.33 percent to $79.53 a barrel, according to the same trading data.
