BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Iraq's military spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, Sabah al-Numan, said Thursday that no domestic or foreign source has provided evidence linking recent drone attacks in the region to Iraqi territory. Speaking at a press briefing, al-Numan said allegations that the strikes were launched from Iraqi soil had not been verified and that no supporting proof had been presented. In the statement, al-Numan said Iraq respects the sovereignty of neighboring countries and will not allow its territory to be used for military operations against them. He added that security forces have tightened border controls and that necessary measures are being taken to investigate the claims. The remarks come amid a rise in drone attacks across the region, with international observers pointing to tensions between Israel and Iran as a driving factor. No further details on the alleged attacks or Iraq's investigation were immediately available.
