Iran Revolutionary Guards say they hit U.S. base after Serik attack

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said on Monday they targeted the U.S. base that it described as the launch point for an attack on a communications tower on Serik Island. The force said the operation was carried out by the Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Force and that the designated targets were destroyed. In a statement, the Revolutionary Guards said any repeat of the same type of attack would be met with a “completely different” response. They did not provide further details on the strike. Elsewhere, sirens sounded in Kuwait on Monday, and the Kuwaiti army said it was confronting hostile missiles and drones over the country’s airspace. U.S. Central Command also said on Monday that it had carried out defensive strikes on radar and command-and-control sites for drones in the Guruk and Kıshm areas of Iran.
