Iran presidency denies reports that Pezeshkian resigned

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran’s presidency denied claims on Sunday evening that President Masoud Pezeshkian had resigned, according to Mehdi Tabatabai, deputy head of the Presidential Communications Office, who made the statement on his X account. Tabatabai said Pezeshkian would not step back from serving the public and rejected the resignation reports. He said the claims were a continuation of campaigns run by some foreign media outlets. Tabatabai also said the Iranian people would preserve their unity and cohesion.
