Lamine Yamal Returns to Training with Spain Ahead of World Cup

LAS ROZAS, Spain — Lamine Yamal joined the Spanish national team for the first portion of an open training session at the Las Rozas Football City complex. The Barcelona forward participated in team drills as part of his recovery ahead of the upcoming World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Yamal left the group during ball-work exercises, while teammates Nico Williams and Victor Munoz also participated in only part of the session due to minor injuries. In a video released by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Yamal expressed concern about the possibility of missing his first World Cup appearance. The young player, who has been sidelined since sustaining an injury in April, is expected to return to full training sessions before the tournament begins. Technical staff anticipate he will be available for selection as the competition approaches.
