Interior Ministry opens legal action over social media livestream

The Interior Ministry’s lower content commission said today it has launched legal action against Ala Hussein Alwan and his wife, Zehra Talip Hadi. The case is being handled by the competent court in Baghdad Karkh that deals with publishing and media cases. The commission said the move followed a live broadcast on social media platforms that included content deemed contrary to public morals and containing insults. It said the necessary legal procedures have been initiated against the parties involved.
