Five Iraqi cities among world's 15 hottest places in past 24 hours

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait — International air observation data showed that five Iraqi locations ranked among the world's 15 hottest places over the past 24 hours, according to recorded peak temperatures. Belize's Baldi Beacon topped the list at 53.3°C, followed by Iran's Amidiye at 50.2°C. Iran's Bandar Mahshahr and Kuwait International Airport tied for third and fourth at 49.9°C, while Iran's Bostan came in fifth at 49.8°C. Iraq's Basra International Airport placed sixth with a reading of 49.7°C. Three other Iraqi locations followed later in the rankings: Kut al-Hay registered 49.3°C for ninth place, Refai reached 49.2°C for eleventh, and Nasiriyah and Samawa each recorded 48.9°C, taking thirteenth and fourteenth respectively. Iran's Ahvaz closed the list at 48.8°C.
