RUTBA, Iraq โ A fire broke out in parts of an electricity power plant in the Rutba district of Anbar province, causing a power outage across the district, according to local official Imad al-Rashawi. The district governor said the blaze was caused by a technical fault and that crews responded immediately, completing repair work at the facility.
Al-Rashawi said current efforts are focused on coordination with the Jordanian side to restore the electricity line and resume supply to the district as soon as possible. He added that relevant authorities are monitoring the situation on the ground and that power will be returned to residents once the grid is stabilized.
According to the governor, once the fault at the plant was resolved, the necessary procedures to reconnect the line with Jordan were being expedited.
