ERBIL, Iraq — Erbil’s Tourism Directorate said 112,657 tourists entered the city during the Eid al-Adha holiday. The directorate said visitors passed through the city’s gates and headed to tourist sites.
It said all arrangements under the holiday plan were implemented successfully, and special committees were formed at checkpoints to serve tourists.
Erbil Police Directorate said all units remained on high alert throughout the holiday. It said 113 officers and 1,532 personnel took part in the plan.
Police said they recorded three murders, several fights and four separate theft cases during the holiday period.
