Uganda has confirmed three new Ebola cases, while the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention warned that 10 countries across the continent are at risk as the outbreak continues to spread. The World Health Organization has declared the epidemic an international emergency, underscoring the public health threat. The new cases include a Ugandan driver, a health worker and a Congolese national. In Uganda, five people have been diagnosed with Ebola since May 2022, and one person has died. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, three Red Cross volunteers were reported dead. Ebola is a deadly disease transmitted through direct contact with body fluids. The Africa health body said the countries at risk are Angola, Burundi, the Central African Republic, the Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Zambia.
