Baghdad Provincial Council said private generator owners must comply with the official tariff and operating hours, warning that deterrent measures will be taken against those who break the rules or manipulate prices. The council also called on authorities to intensify field inspections and follow up citizens’ complaints effectively.
The council welcomed the Council of Ministers’ decision to increase diesel support for private generator owners. Under the plan, each 1 KVA of production will receive 40 liters of diesel per month for three months at a subsidized price of 200 dinars per liter.
The council said closer cooperation is needed between state institutions and generator owners to keep service stable during the summer months and ease the electricity shortage. It said the aim is to ensure regular service delivery and improve compliance with the approved system.
