Armenia says it has added Iran-made Majeed AD-08 air defense system

TEHRAN, Iran — Armenia has announced that it has added the Iran-made Majeed AD-08 air defense system to its inventory. Israeli security sources warned that Tehran is expanding its military influence by exporting advanced defense systems to the region. The Majeed AD-08 is a short-range, low-altitude air defense system that relies on electro-optical and infrared detection. It is also described as having been claimed to have shot down a U.S.-made F-35 fighter jet. Israeli sources said the system poses a serious threat particularly to Israeli drones and Apache helicopters. They added that it does not directly endanger Israeli air superiority against F-35I Adir fighter jets and advanced electronic warfare systems.
