BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Four border crossings in Anbar province generated 109.5 billion Iraqi dinar in revenue during June, provincial governorate advisor Khalid al-Jabri said. Al-Jabri said the funds were transferred to the central treasury and disbursed under the allocations set for Anbar in the 2026 general budget.
Al-Jabri described an unprecedented rise in commercial activity and transit trade through the province's border crossings. He said the Walid border crossing alone brought in more than 10 billion dinar.
He added that the provincial council is fully backing the border crossings authority and that new asphalted roads and additional parking areas are needed to handle the rising traffic. No further details on the planned infrastructure work were immediately available.
