Iraq's meteorological agency forecasts thunderstorms in the north on Saturday

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Meteorological Authority said Saturday will bring thundery showers to the country's northern region, with partly cloudy skies at the start of the day giving way to cloudier conditions in several areas. In its statement, the agency outlined conditions for the rest of the week. On Wednesday, the north is expected to see clear weather while central and southern regions will be partly cloudy, with light to moderate northwesterly winds. Thursday is forecast to bring clear to lightly cloudy skies across northern and central areas and partly cloudy conditions in the south, with temperatures close to those of the previous day. Friday is expected to remain clear in the north and partly cloudy in central and southern Iraq. For Saturday, winds in the north are forecast to blow from the southeast at moderate strength, while central and southern regions will see northwesterly winds. The agency said Wednesday's highest temperatures would range between 41°C and 50°C. No further operational details were provided.
