American University in Baghdad awards honorary doctorate to Faik Zidan

The American University in Baghdad has awarded an honorary doctorate to Judge Faik Zidan, head of the Supreme Judicial Council. The university said the decision was made because of Zidan’s contributions to public life and his support for strengthening state institutions. At the ceremony, Zidan was also presented with the keynote speaker medal. The university said the honorary doctorate is a long-standing academic tradition given to figures who make significant contributions to society and institutions, and said Zidan was honored for his role in managing judicial institutions, strengthening the rule of law, and supporting education and science.
