The globe symbol on a modem is one of the main indicators of the device's internet connection status. Users can usually tell whether the connection is active by looking at the color and blinking pattern of the illuminated icon on the device. A steady or blinking green light generally indicates that the modem has established a link with the internet service provider and data traffic is flowing.
