WASIT, Iraq โ Wasit Governor Ali Hussein Saleemon ordered a halt to the entry of livestock into the province to help limit the spread of hemorrhagic fever, the provincial administration said.
The statement said relevant departments were instructed to allow animals in only if they meet approved health and veterinary requirements.
It also called for tighter inspections at checkpoints and better coordination between the relevant institutions.
The decision was taken as part of measures aimed at preventing outbreaks, the statement said.
