BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The United States will continue pursuing a nuclear agreement with Iran regardless of whether Israel approves, Vice President JD Vance said in a Fox News interview.
Vance said President Donald Trump believes a long-term deal on Iran's nuclear program is achievable and that he is right to pursue one. He acknowledged the agreement may not align with Israel's preferences, but emphasized the administration views it as serving U.S. interests.
Trump separately said Israel would not escalate in the region or restart attacks on Iran. The U.S. president said Iran had done what it needed to do and that the matter was progressing well.
U.S. media outlets reported that Trump warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Washington would not support new Israeli military operations against Iran.
