US official Tom Harb has rejected claims that the United States and Iran have reached a preliminary agreement or prepared a new draft deal. He said the reports were the product of coordination between Iranian intelligence and Pakistan's intelligence service.
Harb stressed that final authority rests with President Trump and said the president has not issued any statement on the matter. His comments came as Pakistan continues its latest effort to secure a peace agreement between the United States and Iran.
Pakistan Army Commander Asim Munir has arrived in Tehran as part of those diplomatic efforts. The visit forms part of Pakistan's continued engagement aimed at advancing a settlement between the two sides.
