BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The US dollar climbed against the Iraqi dinar on Wednesday in currency markets in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region capital Erbil, according to local exchange data.
In Baghdad, the dollar reached 156,000 dinar per $100 in morning trading at the central Kifah and Harisiyah exchanges, up from 154,900 dinar recorded the previous day. At local exchange offices in the capital, the selling price rose to 156,500 dinar per $100 while the buying price reached 155,500 dinar.
In Erbil, the dollar also gained ground, with the selling price set at 155,750 dinar per $100 and the buying price at 155,700 dinar. The two cities posted broadly similar upward moves during morning trading, narrowing the gap between official exchange rates and parallel-market quotations.
