BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Security sources in Diyala province said a 14-year-old boy drowned on Tuesday while swimming in the Tevile River in the northwestern district of Helas. The child's body was recovered from the water and transferred to the forensic medicine department, and an investigation into the incident has been opened, the sources said.
In a separate incident, security sources in Basra reported that a construction worker, Ali Abu Janna, died after being electrocuted while on duty. The worker was from the village of Kabasi in the Shatt al-Arab area and had been employed by a company previously known as "Al Hasan," now operating as "Invenishn," according to the sources.
Both incidents have been reported to the relevant security authorities, the sources said, adding that the necessary legal procedures have been initiated. No further details were immediately available.
