Ukrainian drone strike on Russian Black Sea resort kills seven, including children

MOSCOW — A drone attack struck the Black Sea resort town of Gelendzhik in Russia's Krasnodar region, killing seven people, including three children, and injuring 40 others, according to Russia's Federal Health Ministry and regional officials. The Russian Health Ministry said 21 people, among them three children, were rushed to hospitals, including nine with severe wounds. The ministry dispatched a specialized disaster medicine team to the site near the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka on the Black Sea coast following the explosion. Video footage circulated on social media appears to show a drone slamming into a crowded beach area and triggering a powerful blast. Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev described the incident as a tragedy in a Telegram post, accusing the Kyiv government of deliberately targeting civilians with no links to military infrastructure. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told the Tass news agency that Ukraine had resorted to terrorism. Ukraine has not immediately commented on the reported attack.
